INDICATIONS FOR USE

Calshake® is intended for the dietary management of patients with increased energy requirements e.g. patients with cystic fibrosis, cancer or HIV/AIDS.

Calshake® is prescribable on FP10/GP10 for the following indications: Disease related malnutriton, malabsorption states, or other conditions requiring fortification with a fat / carbohydrate supplement.

All prescriptions must be endorsed ACBS (Advisory Committee on Borderline Substances).

DOSAGE

Dosage should be calculated by a clinician or dietitian according to individual requirements.
As a guide, each serving of Calshake® (one sachet plus 240ml whole milk) will provide approximately 600kcal and 12g protein.

PREPARATION

To prepare one serving of Calshake®, add the contents of one sachet to 240ml whole milk. Mix vigorously with a whisk or fork.
Alternatively mix using a Calshaker supplied by Fresenius Kabi.

Dextrose, Hydrogenated vegetable oil, dried glucose syrup, maltodextrin, dextrose monohydrate, sucrose, skimmed milk powder, sodium caseinate, medium chain triglycerides (MCT), flavouring, acidity regulator (E340), colouring (beetroot powder), emulsifiers (E471, E472b), calcium carbonate.
Vanilla Flavour
Dextrose, Hydrogenated vegetable oil, dried glucose syrup, dextrose monohydrate, maltodextrin, sucrose, skimmed milk powder, sodium caseinate, medium chain triglycerides (MCT), acidity regulator (E340), flavourings, emulsifiers (E471, E472b), calcium carbonate, colouring (beta-carotene).
Chocolate Flavour
Dextrose, Hydrogenated vegetable oil, dried glucose syrup, dextrose monohydrate, maltodextrin, sucrose, cocoa powder, skimmed milk powder, sodium caseinate, flavouring, medium chain triglycerides (MCT), acidity regulator (E340), emulsifiers (E471, E472b), calcium carbonate.
Banana Flavour

STORAGE

Store unopened sachets in a cool, dry place.
Once reconstituted, Calshake® can be stored for up to 24 hours in a refrigerator.
