Description

A polyurethane nasojejunal feeding tube for endoscopic placement in the small intestine.
NPSA compliant.

Indications

For short to medium-term enteral feeding. Suitable patients include:
· Inability to masticate or swallow
· Unconscious patients
· Patients unable to have tubes placed nasally
· Motility disorders affecting the stomach

Contraindications

· Intractable Vomiting
· Ileus
· Severe pseudo-obstructions to the intestine
· Gastro-intestinal bleeding
· Acute pancreatitis

Tube Care

Flush the tube before and after nutrition is administrated – at least once a day – with water, using the universal blue adapter and 50ml luer lock syringe.

Administration of Medication

Administer medications in a liquid form via the tube and flush the tube with water. Rinse the tube carefully before and after each administration of medication. Do not under any circumstances administer medications such as antacids with the nutrition.

Important Notes

The correct position of the tube must be checked, by X-ray.
