Fresenius Kabi’s Specials Service was launched in 1999 and over this time period the product range manufactured for specific clinical needs has grown dramatically.
The Specials Service is able to manufacture, in a licenced production facility, bespoke unlicenced solutions for individual requirements in a variety of presentations including terminally sterilised PVC bags and aseptically prepared syringes. The Service specialises in providing solutions particularly for epidural or IV use. Many customers have realised the benefit of using these products as part of their risk reduction strategies.
To further aid reduction in risk, particularly reducing the incidence of drug administration errors, Fresenius Kabi has had discussions with NPSA (National Patient Safety Agency) regarding labelling of our Specials products. As such, we have implemented colour flashing on the labelling of specials provided in PVC containers in order to differentiate between routes of administration and products.
